KERRY'S UNDERWATER JOURNEY
"My introduction to underwater photography was an "aim and shoot" camera for a trip to Chuuk in 1991. I thought I had taken amazing shots of the pristine wrecks. I was sorely disappointed when I got the films back to discover lots of grey out of focus subjects! Years later I proudly took our new digital camera to the President Coolidge in Vanuatu. Much to my husband's disgust it slipped from my wrist somewhere inside the wreck. I hope whoever found it liked my photos. Next, a Canon G9 in with strobes. Our friend Dominic Barrington spent a month in Micronesia with us, honing my skills on reefs and wrecks. My current system is a Canon 7D and Nauticam housing. What a revelation it is to shoot with a DSLR. My favourite lens is the Canon 100mm L series macro. As you can see this combination has allowed me to capture some of the astonishing colours of the underwater realm and share it with you today. I would like to thank my husband Darren for pushing me all these years to step up my skills and also for buying me every camera and lens I own.
