This privacy policy provides details on how Liquid Lens (LL) uses and protects any information that you provide to us when you register for the underwater photography competition or use our website.

LL is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and not kept for any longer than is necessary. We do not share your information with others, unless required by law. We treat your information confidentiality.

What we collect when you register when entering the LL competition is:

By using our website, sending emails or online forms and telephone conversations we will be able to collect some information to conduct our business and provide our services to you as well as to satisfy any legal, reporting or accounting requirements. We might collect:

• Country of residence

We do not hold any payment details other than the amount you paid, when you paid it and the transaction ID. All other details are dealt with by PayPal.

We do not collect any information of any person under 18 years of age or any sensitive data such as ethnicity, religious, sexual orientation, political opinions or any information about your health. If you are a minor, please be aware that you will need to use our services with the consent of your guardians.

We will ask you for your First Name, Last Name and email address. You have the right to unsubscribe at any time.

Why do we collect information?

If you contact us, visit our website or use our products and services, we may automatically store some details; this information helps us meet our customers’ needs and conduct business as usual.

We are very serious about sharing any identifiable information to any third party; we do not sell or rent any of these details. 

We do require your personal information when entering the competition so we can contact you about the status of your images. Your details might be passed on to any relevant parties associated with the competition, prizes or exhibition of your images.

If you are a winner, your name will be used in the copyright notice accompanying your image whenever used either by LL or by our partners.

We will not send out your email address to anyone outside of the LL judges and any partners of the exhibition. Sometimes we are asked by media outlets for contact details of winning photographers – in that situation we will only forward the request to the photographer concerned, but never reveal the email address to the requestor.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Data disposal

Our competition database of entrant’s details, image uploads and winning image information is deleted permanently on an annual basis.

The only information kept for longer than 12 months is pertaining to the winning photographers and their images.

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. You have control over this file at all times via your browser settings.

The LL website itself only uses cookies from 3rd parties:

• We use Google Analytics to help us monitor website traffic

• We use PayPal as our payment service

Controlling your personal information

If you have already entered the uw photography competition but wish to withdraw and have your details removed from our database, please just email us.
